Don Pedro Mexican Restaurant has become a south side institution since opening its' doors in 1968.
Ruben and Leticia Sepulveda arrived from Monterrey in 1972 in search of a better life for their young family. Don Pedro Mexican Restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine. Each dish lovingly developed and perfected by Leticia herself.
Dedicated to outstanding customer service and delicious food, the Sepulvedas grew the restaurant into one of the most popular in the city and received accolades from local, state and national organizations. Though the husband and wife team retired in 1997, the Don Pedro tradition continues today under the leadership of their three sons, Ruben Jr., Marco and Oscar, who now own and operate the restaurant and remain committed to the work begun by their parents.
Among the menu favorites that have kept customers coming for over three decades are dishes like Cabrito and Chile Relleno as well as newer selections, like Cortadillo de Res estilo Norteño, all vibrant examples of the flavor of Mexico. Even today, Leticia can often be found in the kitchen checking the quality and taste of ingredients and preparing homemade desserts like empanadas and flan cake topped with pecans.
